Since its foundation in 1978, Bluewater is owner & operator of world class Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels and developed some of the most innovative Single Point Mooring Systems.
Through the years, Bluewater designed, owned and operated ten FPSO’s (Floating Production Storage and offloading systems), of which three have been retired and two have been sold back to the oil companies. Presently, Bluewater owns and operates five FPSOs for our clients.
Bluewater has developed some of the most innovative Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems in service from Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring (CALM) Buoys, to Turret Mooring and Tower systems featuring multiple risers. Each system has its own characteristics and fields of application.
A large variety of offshore single point mooring systems are designed and delivered by Bluewater :-
Bluewater has designed, manufactured, supplied and installed numerous innovative FPSO, FSO and SPM systems for oil companies worldwide through turnkey supply and Lease contracts. The company also provides operational and logistic management and support for FPSO and FSO systems.
“Bluewater Floating Production” is making available floating, storage and offloading (FPSO) facilities to Field Operators (Oil Companies) to produce oil and gas from offshore oil and gas fields.
Building on more than 40 years of experience in the design and operation of Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems, Bluewater has developed cost effective solutions for LNG transfer. The Bluewater Jettyless LNG Terminals are an alternative for conventional LNG ports.
These SPM systems are installed nearshore to receive and moor LNG Carriers for loading or offloading. LNG is then transferred between the Carrier and the LNG storage onshore, either directly or by utilising a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) for temporary storage offshore.
In case of gas demand, a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) can be utilised to receive LNG from a Carrier and transfer gas to shore-based facilities.
Since 2006 Bluewater has developed various technologies for renewable energy. This includes solutions for renewable energy and existing energy related solutions to give answer to the global energy demand. Some of our business-ready solutions are presented below based on our vast experience of offshore production, mooring and transfer systems. In parallel, we invest in production and transfer of high voltage electrical power.
Building on over 40 years of experience in designing permanently moored systems, Bluewater has developed a Tension Leg Platform (TLP) to support offshore wind turbines. The TLP foundation is lightweight and is not designed for tow-out stability with a wind turbine, but for the support of a wind turbine when installed at site.
Bluewater has developed a system to produce electrical power near-shore by harvesting tidal energy with a floating tidal energy converter.
Bluewater has developed the e-buoy, a CALM buoy system that enables offshore transfer of electricity to a vessel. The e-buoy can be used to charge battery-powered wind park support vessels, using the power from the wind park. The e-buoy is a turret CALM buoy, which is a field-proven, reliable and robust concept, offering protection to the electrical equipment and allowing unrestricted weathervaning of the moored ship.
Bluewater has developed a floating offshore solar concept that is based on a flexible floater and flexible solar panel technology.
